Deep Eddy (also called Wesfield) is an exclusive neighborhood directly south of Tarrytown on Lake Austin in west Austin. It is bordered by Winstead Lane and MoPac (Loop 1) to the east. The neighborhood takes its name from the famous springs that are located in the community. Deep Eddy is a popular community in Austin and its homes are highly sought after. The relatively modern houses in Deep Eddy average 2,600 square feet and come in a variety of styles. The area is gently hilly and full of trees. It’s a very kid-friendly community, with lots of young families. It’s hard to imagine a community better suited for enjoying outdoor living, whether on land or in water. Deep Eddy is close to so many things that make Austin unique. It’s on the banks of the Colorado River if you want to head to the docks and get some boating or water skiing in. It’s less than a mile to the Ann & Roy Butler hike and bike trail around Ladybird Lake. The Deep Eddy Pool is an Austin icon and the oldest pool in Texas. It is still fed by natural springs. Make sure when you visit and are relaxing in the water or the large lawns, not to miss all of the colorful murals on the walls of the facility. The Deep Eddy Pool puts on Splash Party Pool Nights, allowing kids to float in the pool and watch family-friendly movies. When thirsty, residents visit Deep Eddy Cabaret for a beer at one of Austin’s historic restaurants. The West Austin Youth Association is a valued part of the community and provides a variety of activities for youngsters. West 5th Street takes provides practically instant access to MoPac as well as a direct shot into downtown.
