The Georgetown Poppy Festival is Here!
It's Spring, and that Means A Georgetown Poppy Festival!
The sun is shining and the historic Square--Texas' Most Beautiful--is coming to life as we speak. Traffic has been blocked off, tents are being set up, and there's a definite air of excitement in town!

Each year, the Red Poppy Festival attracts over 40,000 visitors to Georgetown. It's a distinctive, unique Georgetown tradition--something that brings the whole town together. When people talk about loving Georgetown because of its sense of community, this is one of the things they mean. You just don't find a lot of other communities like this out there.
The vendors on the Square will be serving snacks, drinks, food & ice cream. And everyone will bring folding chairs to set-up on the green around the Courthouse to watch the acts on the main stage in the southwest corner.
And they get good musical acts! Tonight, it will be DysFunkshun Junkshun--tomorrow, for the nighttime concert and street dance, it will be The Bellamy Brothers. There's also the parade, car show and even 3X3 basketball.
It's a great weekend and if you're in Central Texas, I encourage you to come on out and enjoy something unique!
