Georgetown, Meet Roxy
The Georgetown Animal Shelter Has Someone For You
Looking for someone to share your new Georgetown home with? Look no further! If you recently moved to Georgetown, or have been here a while, but need a new friend, Roxy would love to be your new companion! She is approximately 6 years old, but has all the energy of a pup. She loves being outdoors and would make a wonderful companion on the San Gabriel Hike and Bike trails, especially the Good Water Loop where you could take her swimming in the lake with you.
Looking For a New Home in Georgetown
This lovely lady has been at the Georgetown Animal Shelter for 7 months and is desperate to meet her forever family. The folks at the animal shelter just love Roxy and are working their best to make sure she is ready for her new family – she is house trained, knows tricks like shake, sit, stay, and speak, and she can walk on a leash. They have even reduced her adoption fees so that the right family will be able to take her home with no hassle at all!
Georgetown real estate isn’t valuable just because of the homes for sale here. I believe it’s the community those homes are a part of that makes the biggest difference. It’s people like those working at Georgetown Animal Shelter that make Georgetown the wonderful place to live that it is today. They are active members of our community and provide both community services to others as well as a place for community members to serve. If you are interested in volunteering at the Georgetown Animal Shelter, they always need helping hands to walk the dogs in the park, play with the animals, give baths, and treats and snuggles to all the animals waiting for a home. The animals get in on the volunteering too; once a month as many animals as can be handled head over to The Cottages to visit the Alzheimer patients and give them much needed love and affection. The more people who volunteer with Georgetown Animal Shelter, the more animals get to go and visit The Cottages!
Get Involved! Consider Adopting Your Next Pet From Georgetown Animal Shelter
Looking for a way to take your love of animals and volunteerism to the next level? Adopt from Georgetown Animal Shelter and take your new pup for extra training to turn him/her into a bona fide therapy dog who can provide love and support to hospital patients, or nursing home residents. Or train them to be a search and rescue team member. The Georgetown Animal Shelter thinks Roxy’s fearless and intelligent nature would make her a great search and rescue dog. Jessie, from the shelter, says that Roxy is, “hands down the smartest dog we have ever met. She really needs to be working to be happy, but she also enjoys the indoor life.”
Still need convincing? Go to the Georgetown Animal Shelter website to see more pictures and videos of Roxy and to get more information about volunteering there.
