A Lot's Happening In Georgetown TX Real Estate Development

The new development project underway in Salado caught my eye this week. A mixed use development with 525 new homes, 350 new apartments, 400 hotel rooms, outdoor music and entertainment venues, and plenty of office and retail space to envy, all designed by a company whose CEO used to be an executive with Walt Disney Imagineering and Celebration Co. is bound to be a creative and fanciful community. It got me to thinking about you all and how you might like to know about a few of the up and coming communities in Georgetown too, so I gathered up the intel I have from developers and city planners and I put it all together below:

Wolf Ranch

Hillwood, a development company owned by Ross Perot Jr., is working on a mixed-use community near the Wolf Ranch Town Center. The community will be home to single-family homes as well as apartment complexes and will eventually be the site of up to 1700 single-family units. Ideally located next to the shopping and restaurants situated inside the Wolf Ranch Town Center and a stone throw away from the proposed Wolf Lake Center, this community would be the epitome of convenience. Jordan Maddox, a principal planner for the city of Georgetown, told me on the phone today that in his opinion, the three biggest value adds the development will bring for the city of Georgetown are:

1.) A growing consumer base for local shops

2.) Park land along the river will be donated and Hillwood will construct the hike and bike trail on the new park land to meet up with the cities current and ever growing trail

3.) A site for a new elementary school will be set aside out of the purchased property

Wilderness Estates

For those looking for something a little more out of the way, this development next to Russell Park might be more your style. Lots here are 1 acre+, extremely close to Georgetown Lake, and have some pretty wonderful views available.

Oakland Park Estates

Located on the West side of Georgetown and to the NW of Woodland Park, this custom home development has no HOA, boasts one acre lots with views, and backs to ranch land for extra privacy. Homes range from $400,000 - $600,000 but with less than 20 home sites, won’t last long.

A New Section of Cimarron Hills

Those interested in the luxury lifestyle available at Cimarron Hills will be interested in the new section currently under development. Our insider at Cimarron is the Senior Market Manager of Drees Custom Homes, Mike Tvinnereim and he sums it up like this:

“The new section of Cimarron Hills has amazing tree coverage. There are many large Heritage Oaks and it's absolutely a beautiful section. Our pricing is going to start in the upper 500s. Customers won't have to upgrade very much because we've loaded the homes up with many standard features including tile roofs, solid core doors, granite in all the bathrooms and kitchen, covered porches - too many to list! We're coming up with new one stories also exclusively for Cimarron Hills. These will have custom elevations and luxurious appointments and lifestyle layouts that we think Cimarron buyers are looking for. Almost every lot either backs up to Greenbelt or golf course and this is a section of the golf course that is not currently built on. We will allow our customers to customize their homes to their specific needs. It's going to be a great neighborhood!”
